From towers to trenches, we remember Charles Arthur Howe
May’s Branch Practice took place at Buckingham. The bells were rung half-muffled in memory of two WW1 North Bucks ringers: Fred Rainbow from Maids Moreton who died on the 4th May 1915 and Charles Howe from Linslade who died on the 29th May 1915. The Branch WW1 Memorial Candle was lit for the duration of the practice and information on both men was displayed next to the Candle.
There was a good turnout of ringers and the ringing ranged from call changes to Surprise Major, with Grandsire and Stedman in between.
After the ringing most people stayed on for tea and cakes and general chatter. Thanks go to Lesley, Nikki and Linda for providing the cakes and to the Buckingham ringers for the tower and bells.
