Ringing for St George’s Day in 2016

Ringing for England logo

In conjunction with Ringing for England, our branch took part in the 2016 St George’s Day rolling ringing.

Similar to the Mexican Wave seen at major sporting events, the branch created a ringing wave of sound, which travelled from church to church, with 33 towers taking part ringing on average for 30 minutes.

You can see which of the churches took part here. Why not take a look at our wall of fame too.

£965 was raised for The Oxford Diocesan Bell Fund and the Association of Ringing Teachers against a target of £500.

The Oxford Diocesan Bell Fund has given grants totalling £26,785 to support repair and renewal of church bells within the North Bucks Branch between its inception in 1974 and the end of 2013. It is a capital fund which means that every penny it receives is invested and the returns from these investments are used to fund grants for approved works.

The Association of Ringing Teachers has provided and will continue to provide our Branch with support to help us ensure we can teach the next generations of ringers and keep this quintessential British skill alive.
